just back from midwife could anyone help?
well am 34 weeks with my 3rd she said ive to slow down on what am doing as i will put myself into early labour even tho she said i will more in likely go into early labour with having done with my other 2 children but she said the baby’s head is down and that’s why am getting the shooting pains in my women and the reason why am walking like john wayne ha ha but i just checked a website and it said that with your 3rd baby the head doesn’t engage until your in labour is that true am at hospital on monday for another growth scan so ill ask there as well but i was wondering was it true that the head doesn’t engage until your in labour
Often that is the case but not always. However, it also common for 3rd(+) babies to ‘bob in and out’ of the pelvis – just because they can because the womb has been stretched a lot and the muscles become lax. They can be engaged one day and not the next, it does not matter yet. Unfortunately whilst the baby is low you will have these shooting pains and have to keep running back and forth to the toilet.
