Why do musicians get overrated when they die?
Jim Morrison,Tupac, Biggie, Kurt Cobain, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, He, Buddy Holly, John Lennon, Freddy Garcia, etc. They all went from great to gods when they died. so they all went for lets say 90 overall talent wise to 100 and their record sales went up to even higher than when they were alive. None of them passed the test of time. Lil wayne is a huge fad right and if he were to get killed then he would be considered number 3 overall for rappers. He is a bigger fad than the Beatles were in the sixties. not to say they werent both good but not great just a collection of good songs. I have always wondered the answer to this question and am not bashing anybody i named since i have all their albums and appreciate them but come on they without a doubt became legendary just bc they died.
I meant Jerry Garcia haha.
I think people can appreciate the music more years later because you don’t hear it on the radio all time. You’ve had a break and now you can understand what they are trying to say because they don’t have as much of the hype. Does that make sense? All those listed are very talented though. I don’t think people will see Lil Wayne that way. I think bands and singers aren’t given as much of a chance any more to release a million albums: if they slip up their out. Although the dead will always be romantised.
