Was it ” the Quiet Man ” ? that film with the fight that lasted ages?
The one where two guys were fighting in mud and travelling along being followed by crowds as they fought. Am i mixing it up with the one where John Wayne dragged his wife home. I hope i am making sense. Folk usually guess what i am getting at.. Forgive my ignorance

The great big fight between two guys followed by a crowd is indeed from “The Quiet Man”, BUT the the big muddy fight where he ends up dragging his wife home is from “McLintock!”. You remember, she takes part and there is a big muddy slope they all end up sliding down.
Both comedy films starred John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara, which is why they are easily mixed up.
Both cracking good movies, though!
